  1. Nice ;) Free weed!

  2. No one mentioned the psychological implications it would have on long term users and the effect it would have on the health care system, inversely affecting the economy.

    • Cite your sources please, if you have any. Professional economists (like Milton Friedman) have consistently noted that legalization would stimulate the economy by saving money on the drug war and incarceration, and there would be major revenue from taxation and sales. Harvard professor Jeffrey Mirron wrote a report in 2005 showing a possibility of $14 billion in government savings nationally.

And Hermes… weed ain’t free, except the crap growing in ditches in Kansas. Good for a headache.

    • As for psychological implications, I believe that having a culture which is not as gung-ho about fighting and war might be a better American way for foreign policy, don’t you think? Other than that, I’m sorry if you don’t like people who act goofy, but that’s not mental illness. The only consistent report I’ve heard, mostly anecdotal and usually from biased sources, is that marijuana use can exacerbate symptoms of schizophrenia in those who are already schizophrenic. It seems less likely to do so than alcohol though. Alcohol is still the main fuel to bring out the beast in anyone. Everybody who’s tried a few drinks will find the one that makes them lose their mind, and they avoid it unless they WANT to lose their mind. I don’t see how pot legalization would suddenly cause people to want self-destruction. There is no evidence in favor of that. There’s more evidence that intelligent, influential and productive people will be able to be more open about their lives and therefore be happier. Plus, the thrill-seekers will be disappointed that it’s not illegal anymore and lose interest in the fun of ‘doing something illegal’.

  3. I’m sick of it!!!!!!!!! I like pot. You like beer. Who’s correct on this? It’s insane.

The millions should not need a buffer like medical marijuana to get smoke.

The intolerant squares (that enjoy a drink) say they just want medical marijuana to get high. And saying it’s medical is an excuse. Well so what. I will never touch crack, coke, or meth. And it’s never been gateway drug for me or any of my successful adult friends.

I get high once every 2 weeks. Why do I have to have excuses? This whole thing pisses me off.

Why not make donuts and soft drinks illegal? They make you fat and give you diabetes. And everyone knows one donut leads to another.

I like pot. So what. Am I a sinner? Have I hurt anyone? Have I stole anything?

You like a drink. I like a puff. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? Just legalize it, tax it, regulate it. AND END THE CRIME AND VIOLENCE CREATED BY KEEPING IT ILLEGAL!

What a bunch of *%*^$& hypocrites!
