After decades of fighting, Afghanistan is awash in weapons, contributing to ongoing instability. Disarming Afghanistan is a key priority for coalition forces and the Afghan government, and a plan has been in place to do that for some three years.

But it is having little success.

Oil heads toward $105 record

Mar 5 - Crude oil prices surged $5 to close at a record $104.52 a barrel after a surprise drop in U.S. supplies and inaction by OPEC.The group of leading oil producing nations said the record high price of oil was out of its control and blamed the weak dollar for pushing oil towards $105 a barrel.
